Jharkhand Eye Society celebrates after being honoured as best in India

Ranchi, June 7: Jharkhand Eye Society has been awarded the prestigious title of the Best Eye Society in India for the year 2024-25. To mark this achievement, Ranchi Ophthalmic Forum organised a special ceremony and seminar at Hotel Le Lac Sarovar Portico in Ranchi recently.

The event was conducted by Dr. Bharti Kashyap, Secretary of the Ranchi Ophthalmic Forum. Speakers included Professor (Dr.) Sunil Kumar, Vitreo-Retina Surgeon Dr. Bibhuti Kashyap, and Dr. Ajay Gupta, who delivered lectures on various topics.

In the postgraduate session, Dr. Anamika Chaudhary and Dr. Vatsala Kunwar from RIO RIMS Ranchi presented case studies.

Celebrations with Cake-Cutting and Group Photo

Following the seminar, the award was celebrated with great enthusiasm. Eye specialists, postgraduate students from RIO RIMS Ranchi, and students from Kashyap Memorial Eye Hospital joined in a cake-cutting ceremony. The group also posed for photographs with the coveted trophy.

Recognition for Scientific Work and Public Awareness

Dr. Bharti Kashyap, Chairperson of the Scientific Committee of Jharkhand Eye Society and Secretary of Ranchi Ophthalmic Forum, shared that the Society received this national recognition for its outstanding contributions in promoting scientific and academic activities among ophthalmologists and postgraduate students, as well as for its successful public awareness campaigns on eye health.

The award was presented to the Jharkhand Eye Society at the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Congress held in New Delhi.

Outreach and Training Efforts in 2024-25

Dr. Kashyap highlighted that in the past year, the Society conducted 142 ‘Vision for Jharkhand’ mega eye health campaigns and organised 94 scientific sessions along with 54 surgical wet-lab training sessions across the state.
