Ranchi, July 15: Jharkhand Governor and Chancellor of state universities, Santosh Kumar Gangwar, attended the 5th Graduation Ceremony of Marwari College, Ranchi, held at the Vivekananda Auditorium on Tuesday.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor extended congratulations and best wishes to the graduating students and lauded the efforts of their teachers and families.
In his address, Governor Gangwar emphasized that academic degrees are not merely certificates but symbols of discipline, hard work, and commitment. “This moment is not just one of celebration for students, but also for their parents, teachers, and the entire college community,” he said.

He urged students to see knowledge not merely as a means to secure employment but as a tool to bring about positive change in society. Referring to India as a country full of diversity and potential, he stressed the need for innovation, thoughtfulness, and sensitivity among the youth.
India Moving Towards ‘Developed Nation @2047’
Highlighting India’s progress on the global economic front, the Governor said the country is now the fourth-largest economy in the world and is steadily moving towards the vision of “Viksit Bharat @2047.”
He underlined the crucial role youth will play in realizing this national goal and expressed confidence that students of Marwari College would contribute meaningfully across various sectors including science, arts, governance, education, entrepreneurship, and social service.

Focus on Quality in Higher Education
Governor Gangwar reiterated his commitment to improving the quality of higher education in Jharkhand. Sharing his experiences, he mentioned having attended several convocations across the state over the past year and appreciated the opportunity to interact with students.
He expressed joy at the energy and determination he observed among students, especially those from rural and remote areas. “It is heartening to see that not only are these students joining the mainstream of higher education, but they are also excelling academically,” he said.
He also noted a significant trend across convocation ceremonies — a growing number of female students earning gold medals — which he said reflects the changing face of a new and empowered India.

Call for Confidence, Humility, and Service
Concluding his address, the Governor called upon students to move forward in life with confidence, humility, and a spirit of service. “In life, it’s not just degrees, but direction and vision that matter. If you remain dedicated and committed to your goals, success will certainly follow,” he said.
