Ranchi, Nov 21: At the first convocation of Jharkhand Raksha Shakti University (JRSU) in Ranchi, Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar said that Jharkhand should no longer be known for “Jamtara’s cybercrime,” but instead as a strong centre for security and cyber education.

Speaking at the Convocation Hall in Morabadi, he stressed that the university’s first convocation marks not just an academic milestone but a symbol of its ideology, achievements, and the trust the public places in it.

Foundation Built on Discipline and Security Training

The Governor recalled that the university’s foundation stone was laid by the late Manohar Parrikar, former Defence Minister, known for his simplicity and hard work. He said that JRSU was created not only as an academic institution but as a centre that develops discipline, security awareness, scientific thinking, and administrative skills in youth.

He highlighted that many young people in Jharkhand aspire to military and police service but often struggle due to a lack of proper guidance, making the role of the university even more important.

Preparing Youth for Modern Security Challenges

Governor Gangwar emphasized that strengthening India’s security system requires students to move beyond traditional training and understand modern technology and emerging threats. Skills in cybersecurity, forensic science, criminal psychology, police management, intelligence analysis, and disaster management are now essential fields.

He expressed confidence that students trained at JRSU will help the state fight rising cybercrime, especially the type that has made Jamtara a national focus, and serve as an example for other states.

Education as National Duty, Vision Aligned with NEP 2020

The Governor said that the knowledge students gain here is not just a degree but an opportunity to understand their responsibility to society and the nation. He added that India’s future lies in the hands of its youth, especially in achieving a Developed India @ 2047.

He noted that the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 has given higher education a more practical, multidisciplinary, and future-oriented direction, helping students compete globally. He also stressed that modern universities must focus on innovation, research, and solution-based learning.

He expressed confidence that JRSU will become a model institution in digital security, cyber forensics, internal security, and technical training in the coming years.

Students Encouraged to Carry Values and Serve the Nation

The Governor urged students to show, wherever they go, that they have received not only education but also values from this university. He encouraged them to make service to society and the nation their goal and to bring pride to Jharkhand and India through their actions.

He wished all graduating students a bright future and said that their achievements should inspire both society and the nation.
