THE JHARKHAND STORY NETWORK

Ranchi, May 1: Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar has expressed serious concern over multiple irregularities reported in recent examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC). Acting on his directions, Lok Bhawan has sent a formal letter to the Chairman of the Commission, highlighting the issues and seeking urgent action.

Errors in Question Papers and Answer Keys

The letter states that information from various sources indicates errors in the question papers of the Assistant Conservator of Forests Main Examination and the Civil Services Preliminary Examination. It also points to mistakes in the provisional answer keys released earlier.

Lapses in Examination Process

Apart from errors in the question paper and answer key, concerns have also been raised about lapses in exam management, inconsistencies in evaluation, and inadequate verification before publishing official documents. These irregularities have caused confusion among candidates and affected the fairness of the examination process.

The situation has raised serious questions about the Commission’s credibility and functioning, with candidates expressing concern about transparency and reliability.

Probe Ordered, Accountability to Be Fixed

The Governor has directed that a detailed investigation be conducted to fix responsibility for these lapses. He has instructed that appropriate action be taken against those found accountable, in accordance with the rules.

The communication also emphasises the need for stronger safeguards, improved review systems, and better coordination to prevent such issues in the future. The Governor stressed that examinations must be conducted with transparency, integrity, and high standards to restore candidates’ confidence.
