Ranchi, Dec 18: Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar today inaugurated a two-day international conference on “Advances in Foundry and Forming Technology” at the National Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Technology (NIAMT), Ranchi. He congratulated the Department of Foundry and Forge, NIAMT, and The Institute of Engineers (India), Jharkhand State Centre, for organizing the event.
Governor’s highlights importance of foundry and forming technology
In his address, the Governor emphasized that foundry and forming technology serve as the backbone of industrial development, playing a crucial role in sectors such as manufacturing, automobiles, aerospace, and defence. He appreciated NIAMT’s rich legacy and its contributions to technological research.
The Governor also highlighted the need to strike a balance between industrial development and environmental sustainability. He stressed that sustainable technologies, energy efficiency, and environment-sensitive innovations not only enhance industrial performance but also open new avenues for sustainable development.

Supporting ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and social responsibility
He stated that events like these will help realize the vision and goals of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Viksit Bharat @2047’. He also suggested that NIAMT take proactive steps by adopting the Hatia area and its surroundings, playing a leading role in education, cleanliness, and skill development, thus setting an exemplary model of social service.
The Governor expressed hope that the conference would become a powerful platform for the exchange of technical knowledge and inspire future generations of engineers and scientists. He wished NIAMT success in reaching new heights in the technical and educational fields, contributing to the nation’s development.
He congratulated all members of the organizing committee for the successful conduct of this international conference.

On this occasion, Dr. Arun Kumar Jha, Chancellor of NIAMT, Shyam Arjunwadkar, former Chairman of the Board of Governors, Dr. S. Datta, political, economic, and foreign policy expert, Dr. D.K. Singh, Vice Chancellor of Jharkhand University of Technology, Prof. P.P. Chattopadhyay, Director of NIAMT, and Engineer Mahesh Kumar Gupta, President of The Institute of Engineers (India), Jharkhand State Centre, along with several scholars, researchers, students, and other distinguished guests, were present.
