Ranchi, Feb 21: Steve Leventhal, CEO of the international organization WorldBeing (USA), met Chief Minister Hemant Soren and MLA Kalpana Soren today in the Chief Minister’s chamber at the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly. During the meeting, he shared details about the Arohan program run by the WorldBeing India Foundation, which focuses on the welfare and empowerment of tribal youth.

Leventhal also informed the Chief Minister about the positive impact the program has had on teachers and students in ashram residential schools. The Chief Minister took a detailed interest in the organization’s initiatives for the upliftment and development of the tribal community and expressed his appreciation for their efforts. Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Avinash Kumar was also present at the meeting.

Government Committed to Strengthening Tribal Youth

Chief Minister Hemant Soren emphasized that Jharkhand is a tribal-dominated state, and his government is taking concrete steps to advance tribal youth in various fields, including economic, social, and educational sectors. He highlighted that collaboration with organizations like WorldBeing can significantly contribute to this mission. The government remains committed to strengthening and empowering the state’s tribal youth through positive partnerships.

Focus on Mental Strength of Tribal Youth

Sunita Munda, Jharkhand in-charge of the WorldBeing India Foundation, spoke about the organization’s efforts. She noted that while tribal youth in Jharkhand possess great physical strength and resilience, they often need additional mental fortitude to overcome challenges. Through the Arohan program, the organization is working to build their mental strength.

The Chief Minister acknowledged this need and assured that the government would closely assess the impact of the program to explore ways to further support the mental well-being of tribal youth.

Integrating Arohan into the Education System

Representatives of the WorldBeing India Foundation informed the Chief Minister that Arohan is already being implemented in collaboration with Bihar’s education system. In response, the Chief Minister stated that the Jharkhand government would seriously consider integrating Arohan into its own education system. To evaluate its effectiveness, a team of teachers and officials from Jharkhand will be sent to Bihar to study the program’s implementation.
