Ranchi, March 22: Suspended IAS officer Chhavi Ranjan, accused of wrongfully buying and selling a one-acre plot of land on Cheshire Home Road, has suffered a major setback from the Jharkhand High Court.
The court has denied bail to him while hearing his bail plea.
After hearing arguments from both the ED and Chhavi Ranjan, Justice Sujit Narayan Prasad’s court had reserved its verdict on March 1.
Advocates Indrajit Sinha and Abhishek Chaudhary represented Chhavi Ranjan.

Currently, Chhavi Ranjan is in judicial custody at the Birsa Munda Central Jail.
The scam involves the fraudulent purchase and sale of land occupied by the army located at Bariatu in the Bargain area of Ranchi.
The ED has arrested Chhavi Ranjan, famous businessman Bishnu Agarwal, Revenue Sub Inspector of Bargai area Bhanu Pratap Prasad among others in the case.
