Ranchi, April 7: The Jharkhand High Court today granted anticipatory bail to several officers of the State Administrative Service who were recruited through the first Civil Services Combined Examination conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC).

The officers who received bail include Rajeshwar Nath Alok, Anil Kumar Yadav, Seema Singh, Sushma Neelam Soreng, and Jyoti Kumar Jha.

The other officers included Kameshwar Ram, Lakkhi Ram Baski, Harivansh Pandit, Sudarshan Murmu, Anant Kumar, Sudarshan Murmu, Rajiv Kumar, Yogendra Prasad, Santosh Kumar Garg, Kamleshwar Narayan and others.

The CBI had filed a chargesheet against a total of 37 people after investigating the JPSC-one appointment scam.

These officers had come under scrutiny following allegations of irregularities in the recruitment process. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was brought in to investigate after concerns were raised about favoritism and manipulation in the selection procedure. The investigation focused on suspected tampering with answer sheets, manipulation of interview marks, and other violations in the candidate selection process.

After a detailed probe, the CBI filed a chargesheet in the case. The chargesheet marked the end of the investigation and laid out the findings related to the alleged misconduct during recruitment.

Representing the officers, lawyer Pandey Neeraj Rai argued in court that his clients had fully cooperated with the CBI throughout the investigation. He also noted that since the charge sheet had already been submitted and the investigation was complete, there was no need for custodial interrogation. “Therefore, their arrest for investigation is not required,” he said.
