Ranchi, Nov 14: The Jharkhand High Court dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) on Thursday, which sought to halt the Mukhyamantri Maiyan Samman Yojana, an ambitious initiative by the state government.

The court refused to impose a stay on the scheme. The hearing was conducted by a bench led by the Chief Justice M.S. Ramachandra Rao.

The petition, filed by Vishnu Sahu from Simdega through his lawyer Rajeev Kumar, argued that the government launched the scheme ahead of the elections with the intent to sway voters.
