Jharkhand HC takes serious note of attack on BIT Mesra student

Ranchi, August 22: The Jharkhand High Court has taken serious note of the assault on a student at Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Mesra following an incident of molestation.

On Friday, the bench of the Chief Justice directed the state government to submit a reply in connection with the case. The matter will be heard again on August 28.

The case relates to an incident on Wednesday night, when miscreants allegedly molested an MBA student on the BIT Mesra campus in Ranchi and attacked her with a blade.

The incident sparked outrage among students, who staged a protest on the campus the next day, demanding stronger security measures for both male and female students.
