Ranchi, May 4: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Monday held a high-level review meeting via video conferencing with senior officials and Deputy Commissioners of all districts to assess the impact of the ongoing heatwave and rising temperatures. He directed the administration to ensure that citizens do not face any inconvenience, especially in access to drinking water, electricity, and healthcare services.
Top Priority to Drinking Water Supply
The Chief Minister stressed that uninterrupted access to drinking water must be ensured across the state. He directed Deputy Commissioners to regularly monitor water supply systems, including hand pumps, pipelines, water tankers, and other alternative sources. Immediate action must be taken wherever shortages or disruptions are reported to prevent any water crisis.
No Laxity in Power Supply and Healthcare Services
Reviewing electricity services, Soren emphasised the need for an uninterrupted power supply during the peak summer period. He instructed officials to coordinate closely with departments to address issues such as power cuts, transformer failures, and supply disruptions without delay.

Officials have been asked to share tour details with headquarters, including photographs, and engage directly with residents to address grievances.

The Chief Minister underlined that administrative alertness, continuous monitoring, and coordination among departments are critical during extreme weather conditions. He instructed all departments to work together to ensure that no citizen suffers due to a lack of basic amenities.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Ajay Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Vandana Dadel, along with other senior officials and Deputy Commissioners.
