Jharkhand Junior Badminton: Double titles for Krish, Anushka and Samvith

 

Dhanbad, Nov 3: Krish Dubey, Anushka Kachhap, and Samvith Ramesh produced stellar performances, clinching double titles each at the Jharkhand State Junior Badminton Championship-cum-Selection Trials, which concluded at the Indoor Stadium in Dhanbad on Sunday evening.

Krish Dubey dominates boys’ U-17 events

Reigning senior men’s state champion Krish Dubey once again showcased his dominance, securing the boys’ under-17 singles and doubles titles. In the singles final, he defeated Samvith Ramesh, while Aniket Singh of Ranchi finished third.

In the boys’ under-17 doubles final, Krish teamed up with Sujal Rakshit of Dhanbad to defeat the Ranchi duo of Mojahid Raja and Shree Ram Ratan, adding another title to his tally.

Anushka Kachhap bags U-15 singles and U-17 doubles crowns

Emerging talent Anushka Kachhap of Jamshedpur impressed with her all-round performance, winning the girls’ under-15 singles and under-17 doubles titles. In the under-15 singles final, she overcame Aahana Tigga of Gumla, while Shambhavi Hembram of Ranchi secured third place.

In the under-17 doubles event, Anushka paired with Aniska Tyagi to defeat Anu Shristi Oraon (Latehar) and Puja Kumari (Gumla) in the final.

Samvith Ramesh shines in boys’ U-15 category

Samvith Ramesh of Ranchi continued his fine form, winning both singles and doubles titles in the boys’ under-15 events. He defeated Rajveer of Giridih in the singles final, and later, alongside Aniket Singh, clinched the doubles title by beating Krish Kumar (Latehar) and Prince Kumar (Godda).

Meanwhile, Aqsa Firdosh of Bokaro emerged as the girls’ under-17 singles champion, defeating Anshika Tyagi of Jamshedpur in the final. Aahana Tigga of Gumla finished third.

Other results

In the girls’ under-15 doubles, Ladlee Rose (Deoghar) and Samridhi Hembram (Ranchi) emerged champions, defeating Anisha Patra (Bokaro) and Shraddha Sinha (Ranchi).

In the under-15 mixed doubles, Manish Hembra and Samridhi Hembram (West Singhbhum) won the title, while Ankit Hembra (Giridih) and Anisha Patra (Bokaro) finished runners-up.

The under-17 mixed doubles crown went to Shree Ram Ratan (Ranchi) and Anu Shristi Oraon (Latehar), who beat Swapaneel Nayak and Ananya Giri (Hazaribagh).

Dhanbad Rail Division Sports Officer Dheeraj Kumar was the chief guest at the closing ceremony and presented trophies to the winners and runners-up.
