Dhanbad, Nov 2: Title favourites Samvith Ramesh and Aniket Singh of Ranchi, along with Surdeep Kumar of Bokaro and Rajdeep of Giridih, secured their berths in the boys’ under-15 semifinals of the Yonex Sunrise Jharkhand State Junior Badminton Championship currently underway at the Indoor Stadium, Dhanbad.

In the girls’ under-15 quarterfinals, Shambhavi Burman of Ranchi, Anushka Kachhap of Jamshedpur, Anisha Patra of Bokaro, and Aashana Tigga of Gumla entered the last four with commanding wins.

 Boys’ Under-15 Quarterfinals

Samvith Ramesh (Ranchi) defeated Ranjan Kumar Singh (Lohardagga) 21–09, 21–12

Aniket Singh (Ranchi) beat Krish Kumar (Latehar) 21–05, 13–21, 21–11

Surdeep Kumar (Bokaro) edged past Ankit Kumar 21–14, 24–22

Rajveer overcame Md Mojahid Raja (Ranchi) 21–13, 16–21, 21–16

 Girls’ Under-15 Quarterfinals

Anushka Kachhap (Jamshedpur) trounced Shradha Sinha (Ranchi) 21–05, 21–04

Shambhavi Burman (Ranchi) defeated Ladlee Bose (Deoghar) 21–19, 21–15

Anisha Patra (Bokaro) outplayed Namrata Toppo (Ranchi) 21–09, 21–08

Aashana Tigga (Gumla) beat Aqsa Firdous (Bokaro) 21–09, 21–08

 Girls’ Under-17 Singles

In the girls’ under-17 pre-quarterfinals, Anu Shristhi Oraon (Latehar), Anushka Kachhap (Jamshedpur), Anishka Tyagi (Jamshedpur), Shristi Suman (Deoghar), and Aashana Tigga (Gumla) advanced to the quarterfinals after comfortable wins.

Anu Shristhi Oraon beat Puja Kumari (Gumla) 15–09, 15–08

Anushka Kachhap defeated Namrata Toppo (Ranchi) 15–04, 15–02

Anishka Tyagi beat Prachi Kumari (Deoghar) 15–03, 15–03

Shristi Suman overcame Kritika Krishna (Giridih) 13–15, 15–11, 15–11
