Ranchi, Feb 28: The Jharkhand Bijili Vitran Nigam Limited (JBVNL) has given a major jolt to domestic and industrial consumers with increasing 25 Paise and Rs 15 Paise respectively in power tariff per unit from financial years of 2023-24.

As per the new power tariff released by JBVNL, now urban consumers will have to pay Rs 6.55 per unit while industrial consumers have to pay Rs 7.66  Besides, JBVNL has increased the 50 Paise tariff per unit to rural power consumers.

At present, urban domestic consumers pay Rs 6.30 Paise per unit power tariff while industrial consumers pay Rs 7.51 paise.

JBVNL’s new power tariff has come amidst the announcement of providing free of cost 125 units of power to consumers by new chief minister Champai Soren. The Hemant Soren government had announced 100 units free of cost power to consumers.
