Jamshedpur, Oct 21: The weather in Jharkhand is set to take a turn later this week, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting thundershowers and rainfall activity across several parts of the state on October 25 and 26.

According to the IMD forecast, thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty winds reaching speeds of 30–40 kmph are likely to occur at isolated places across Jharkhand, except the northeastern region, on October 24–25.

By October 23, southern and adjoining central parts may see light rain or thunderstorms at isolated locations, while other areas will likely remain dry.

Meteorologists have also reported an upper air cyclonic circulation persisting over the south Andaman Sea and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal, extending up to 5.8 Km above mean sea level.

Under its influence, a low-pressure area is expected to form over the southeast Bay of Bengal within the next 24 hours.

The system is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a depression over the central and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal during the next 24 hours.
