Jharkhand MPs hold meeting with SE Railway GM

Jamshedpur, Jan 14: Members of Parliament (both from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha) of the divisional railway committee comprising Chakradharpur and Ranchi divisions of South Eastern Railway held a meeting with Anil Kumar Mishra, General Manager, South Eastern Railway in Jamshedpur yesterday.

Altogether, 11 MPs attended the meeting. The Divisional Committee meeting was chaired by Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato.

The other MPs who attended the meeting were Pradip Kumar Varma, Aditya Prasad, Deepak Prakash, Joba Majhi, Jyotirmay Singh Mahato, Sukhdeo Bhagat, Kali Charan Singh, Kali Charan Munda, Manish Jaiswal and Tankadhar Tripathy.

General Manager’s address and updates

Anil Kumar Mishra, General Manager, South Eastern Railway welcomed the MPs and thanked them for their consistent support and cooperation.

The General Manager apprised the MPs of the performance of South Eastern Railway, both in the freight and passenger sector for the current financial year. He also highlighted the services in respect of passenger amenities works which were being provided by South Eastern Railway.

The General Manager stated that the suggestions offered by the MPs for the development of passenger amenities and railway infrastructure would be reviewed with paramount importance.

Suggestions and discussions for Railway improvements

The MPs appreciated the overall performance of South Eastern Railway and assured their cooperation for the smooth functioning of the railway zone.

During the session, the MPs advised the railway Authorities on various issues associated with train services, stoppages, cleanliness, expeditious completion of railway projects etc. for the benefit of the passengers.

The MPs laid emphasis on several passenger amenities at different stations. They also requested for new trains, new stoppages of existing trains, provision of passenger amenities at stations, punctuality in trains etc.

Discussions were held on the construction and completion of new lines, road overbridges, underpasses, increase in frequency of trains, extension of service, up-gradation of stations etc.

The MPs also offered their valuable suggestions for the development of railway infrastructure in the Chakradharpur and Ranchi divisions.

Tarun Huria, Divisional Railway Manager, Chakradharpur, Jasmeet Singh Bindra, Divisional Railway Manager, Ranchi and Principal Head of the Departments of South Eastern Railway also attended the meeting.
