Jamshedpur, May 22: Tata Steel Sports Department is set to host the second edition of the Senior Citizens Fun and Fitness League, which is scheduled to commence on May 23 with a Table Tennis event.

The league, which will span over several months, aims to provide a platform for senior citizens to engage in a variety of sports and physical activities.

The last date to register for the event is today, May 22 midnight through https://forms.office.com/r/VN6UJEDsJE.

Aim to cultivate sporting culture among senior citizens

Senior citizens play a crucial role in society and have a significant impact on the younger generation. By involving them in various sports and physical activities, this initiative seeks to promote and cultivate a sporting culture among the community, thereby encouraging the younger generation to follow suit.

The first edition of the Senior Citizens Fun and Fitness League, hosted by Tata Steel Sports Department last year, received a positive response from the senior citizens of Jamshedpur.

Diverse range of sports

The inaugural edition featured a diverse range of sporting events, including Badminton, Table Tennis, Yoga, Golf Putting, and Walkathon.

This year’s edition is expected to include a wider array of sports, such as Carrom, Chess, Badminton, Yoga, Walkathon, Golf Putting, and Tennis, along with knowledge-sharing sessions tailored for the senior citizen participants.

Through this initiative, Tata Steel Sports Department aims to foster a sense of community, promote active lifestyles, and encourage the senior citizens of Jamshedpur to engage in physical and intellectual activities, ultimately contributing to their overall well-being and the development of a vibrant sporting culture in the region.
