Dhanbad, May 4: Three dreaded criminals of Giridih district were arrested in Dhanbad on Saturday with arms from Shanti Lodge, near the famous Khalsa Hotel on the side of Inter-state GT Road under Govindpur police station, around 15 km from here.
Superintendent of Police (city) Ajit Kumar told media persons that the arrested criminals were identified as Md Ibran, Sanju Kumar and Md Shamsher. All are residents of Giridih district.
“Md Ibran is a history-sheeter and several cases of dacoity, and loot are registered against him in police stations of different districts,” said the city SP.

Police recover arms, ammunition
The police team recovered a pistol, 3 cartridges, 3 mobile phones and a car from them. They admitted that they had come to commit a major crime in Dhanbad. Interrogation of arrested criminals is on.
The City SP said getting a tip-off that three persons were staying in the lodge with arms, Govindpur police station officer-in-charge Ramakant Prasad raided room no. 102 of the lodge and nabbed all the trio before they escaped. They also seized arms and cartridges in the room.
He said that in the wake of Lok Sabha elections, a special drive against criminals is under progress in the district.
