Dhanbad, Aug 6: A joint team of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP), and Crime Intelligence Branch (CIB) seized 42 kg of ganja from the Howrah-New Delhi Rajdhani Express (12301) at Dhanbad railway station on Tuesday evening. Three couriers/accused were arrested in connection with the case.
RPF Inspector Ajay Prakash informed the media that the arrested passengers were traveling in the Second AC coach from Howrah to Prayagraj. They were carrying 42 kg of ganja packed in three trolley bags, each containing 14 packets of the contraband.

The operation was carried out when the train arrived at platform number 3 of Dhanbad station at 8:05 pm. The joint team searched the Second AC coach and detained the trio along with the bags.

All three arrested individuals belong to different districts of Bihar. They have been identified as Sourabh Kumar (18) from Nalanda, Akhlesh Mohan (24), and Ranjit Kumar (21) from Siwan district.
Along with the ganja, the team also confiscated mobile phones and Rs 2,100 in cash from their possession. A case has been registered at the GRP station against the accused.

During interrogation, the arrested men revealed that a person named Sanjay, a resident of Angul district in Odisha, had given them the trolley bags for delivery to a man named Rajkumar at Prayagraj station.
The search operation was led by CIB Inspector Arvind Kumar Ram and GRP Sub-Inspector Nandlal Ram.
