Jamshedpur, Jan 30: The Dharma Saastha Samooham, a revered religious and cultural organization, is set to host the 77th Saastha Preethi Celebrations from January 31 to February 9, 2025, at the Uttara Sabarimala Dharma Saastha Temple, Bistupur, Jamshedpur.
P N Sankaran, Chairman, Sri Dharma Sastha Temple, said that the annual festival, deeply rooted in the Shanmatha Stapana tradition propagated by Adi Shankara, will include a series of religious rituals, homams (sacred fire offerings), poojas, bhajans, and cultural performances.
This year, the event will focus on Kaumaram, a form of worship dedicated to Lord Subramanya, continuing the temple’s second cycle of the six-fold Vedic worship tradition.

The celebrations will be conducted under the guidance of Brahma Shree Vijayabhanu Ghanapadigal, with various rituals scheduled throughout the ten-day festival. Highlights include the Maha Ganapathy Homam, Kalasha Sthapanam, Mahanyasa Purvaka Ekadasa Rudra Abhishekam, and the grand Rathotsavam procession.
Devotees will also witness bhajans by Acharya Bhakta Sabha and Nadaswaram performances by renowned musicians.
The Uttara Sabarimala Dharma Saastha Temple, established in 1974, is a replica of the famous Sabarimala temple in Kerala. Over the years, it has become a prominent spiritual landmark in Jamshedpur, attracting devotees from across the region. The temple has undergone four major Kumbhabhishekams, with the most recent one held in February 2020.
The organizing committee has appealed to devotees to actively participate and contribute towards the celebrations, ensuring its success.
