Accident victims’ kin get over Rs 4.99 crore at Special Lok Adalat in Dhanbad

Dhanbad, June 8: Over Rs 4.99 crores were recovered in Special Lok Adalat set up on Saturday at Dhanbad Civil Court premises for settlement of Motor Vehicle Accident Compensation claim cases.

Giving this information to media persons, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) secretary cu Sub Judge Rakesh Roshan said that in Special Lok Adalat total of 46 cases related to Motor Vehicle Accident Claims were settled and over Rs 4.99 crore recovered.

“The day-long Special Lok Adalat for immediate settlement of Motor Vehicle Accident Claim cases was set up on directive of the Jharkhand Legal Services Authority and Principal District and Session Judge Ram Sharma. A total of six benches were set up for settling the cases,” said Rakesh Roshan.

The benches were comprised of Principal District and Session Judge Ram Sharma, District and Session Judge Sujit Kumar Singh, Rajnikant Pathak, Durgesh Chandra Awasthi, Sanjay Kumar Singh, Legal and Defence Counsel System Chief Kumar Bimlendu, Deputy Chief Ajay Kumar Bhatt, Assistant  Counsel members Kanhaiya  Lal Thakur, Niraj Goel,  Suman Pathak, Swati and Muskan Chopra.

DLSA secretary Rakesh Roshan said that on June 30 a Special Lok Adalat would be held for the disposal of land acquisition, compensation, and revenue collection cases.
