Jamshedpur, Sept 19: The Jharkhand government has posted 2016-batch IPS officer Ajit Kumar as the Superintendent of Police (Rail), Jamshedpur.
He takes over one of the most sensitive railway zones in the state, where incidents of theft, snatching, and anti-social activities are frequently reported.

Kumar, known for his no-nonsense policing, has earlier served as City SP in Ranchi and Dhanbad. In both districts, he won recognition for cracking down on organized gangs and launching sustained drives against criminal networks.

His working style, marked by discipline and ground-level action, has often kept him in the spotlight.
As Rail SP, his immediate priority will be to strengthen law and order across railway stations and trains, curb property theft, and ensure a safer travel environment for passengers.
