Dhanbad, Jan 9: The superb all-round performance of Anjali Toppo helped the 2023 MBBS team to crush the 2021 MBBS batch girls team by 26 runs in the first match of the Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) Dhanbad inter-MBBS cricket tournament.

Anjali hits six boundaries

Leading her team from the front in batting and bowling, Anjali Toppo scored the highest 43 runs and took two wickets.

Batting first, the 2023 batch scored 86 runs in the stipulated six overs, losing only two wickets. The highest scorer, Anjali, hit six boundaries in her 43 runs.

2021 batch scores 59 runs

In reply, while chasing a target of 87 runs for victory, the 2021 batch could muster 59 runs only in the stipulated six overs, losing three wickets. Anjali of the 2023 batch claimed two wickets.

For an all-around performance, Anjali was declared the woman of the match.

Inter-MBBS cricket tournament for Dr Joginder Singh Memorial Trophy, one of the founders of SNMMCH, is being organised as part of the Antrangani Annual Fest of Medical College. The coordinator, Dr Prabhat Kumar, said the MBBS boys’ team fixture would be announced soon.
