Bokaro, Feb 4: BJP state president and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi launched a scathing attack on the Jharkhand government, accusing it of politicizing the issue of ₹1.36 lakh crore dues. Speaking to the media in Bokaro, Marandi demanded that the state government provide a detailed breakup of the outstanding amount instead of using it for political rhetoric.

He argued that when an individual demands repayment, the debtor is expected to furnish specific details. Similarly, the state government must clarify when and under which heads this outstanding amount accumulated.

Marandi emphasized that during budget presentations, governments outline expenditure plans, sources of funds, and central grants. He insisted that the Jharkhand government must adopt the same transparency regarding the alleged dues.

He also suggested that the state government, which frequently issues advertisements for its schemes, should dedicate one such advertisement to explaining the ₹1.36 lakh crore claim. He assured that once accurate details are presented, the BJP would also extend support to the state government on this matter.

Corruption Affecting Common People

Marandi further stated that corruption is the biggest issue in Jharkhand, directly impacting the common people. He alleged that bribes are required even for legitimate work, including land-related matters, with rates fixed per acre at government offices.

He criticized the administration for failing to function properly, adding that even children’s futures are at risk due to the government’s inefficiencies.

Gratitude to PM Modi and Railway Minister for Budget Allocations

Marandi also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for allocating over ₹7,000 crore for Jharkhand’s railway projects in the Union Budget.

He highlighted the central government’s continuous efforts to improve railway connectivity and passenger amenities in the state.
