Jamshedpur, March 6: To bring together Bengali speakers of Jharkhand and promote Bengali culture, the Bangiya Utsav Samiti will organize a grand Bangiya Utsav on March 16, 2025, at Bistupur Gopal Maidan.

A meeting was held at the Bistupur Milani Auditorium to finalize the event’s preparations, where a new committee was formed. Amit Patra was unanimously appointed as the committee’s president.

After being appointed as the president, Mr. Patra stated that this year’s Bangiya Utsav would be a grand event, ensuring due respect for all esteemed individuals and guidance from intellectuals. The festival will feature special cultural performances.

Renowned Bengali folk singer from Kolkata, Poushali Banerjee, Rarh Bangla’s Manbhum Purulia artists Kundan Kumar and Kanika Karmakar, along with Jharkhand’s famous Bengali singers Ankita Basu Banerjee and Rana Banerjee, will mesmerize the audience with their musical performances.

Amit Kumar Patra also announced that the committee would be expanded within the week to ensure smooth preparations for the event.

The meeting was attended by prominent individuals, including Aparna Guha, Purbi Ghosh, Anshu Sarkar, Mithilesh Ghosh, Shubhankar Chatterjee, Babulal Chakraborty, Ashok Dutta, Binod De, Barnali Chakraborty, Bulbul Dutta, Amit Maity, Subhash Singh Roy, Pronob Bora, Arup Mallik, Debashish Chakraborty, and Sudipto Sarkar, among others.

The Bangiya Utsav promises to be an inspiring occasion for the Bengali-speaking community of Jharkhand and a valuable opportunity to preserve Bengali cultural heritage.
