Jharkhand Women’s Badminton Championship starts tomorrow

Dhanbad, Mar 6: The prestigious Asmita Sports Jharkhand State Women’s Badminton Tournament, organized by the Jharkhand Badminton Association (JBA), will commence tomorrow (March 7) at the Mohan Ahuja and Tata Steel Badminton Training Centre in Jamshedpur.

The four-day event, sanctioned by the Sports Authority of India (SAI), will run until March 10.

Over 40 renowned players from different districts of the state have registered to compete in this prestigious tournament.

The total prize money of ₹90,000 will be awarded to the winner, runner-up, and semifinalists of the tournament.

Significance of the Tournament

K. Prabhakar Rao, Secretary of the Jharkhand Badminton Association and Joint Secretary of the Badminton Association of India, mentioned that only three states—Assam, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand—are conducting this tournament across the country.

He emphasized that the tournament would play a crucial role in identifying and selecting the best young talent. Rao encouraged badminton enthusiasts in the state to attend and witness the thrilling matches.

“This tournament will play a crucial role in identifying and selecting the best young talents. I request all badminton enthusiasts of state to come and witness the thrilling matches”, he said.
