Dhanbad Jan 11: Social organisation Prayavaran Mitra felicitated the acting vice-chancellor of Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University (BBMKU), Dr Pawan Kumar Poddar, for promoting environmental protection on the university campus and college premises.
The organisation’s coordinator, Sudha Rajaswi Mishra, and her team members reached the BBMKU campus. They felicitated V-C Dr Poddar for his outstanding approach to promoting the environment protection spirit and initiating step for it.

Prayavaran Mitra is an active social organisation committed to protecting the environment and water conservation in the coal belt.
On the occasion, a massive plantation drive was also carried out on the campus in which, besides the acting vice-chancellor, senior officials of the university, including Registrar Kaushal Kumar, Dean of Students Welfare (DSW) Pushpa Kumari, examination controller Dr Suman Kumar Barnbal, Dr Masuf Ahmed of Urdu department also joined in the campaign.
Since assuming the vice-chancellor’s charge in October 2023, in the last three months, Dr Poddar has initiated many steps to promote environment protection on the university campus and encouraged the principals of Dhanbad- Bokaro-based colleges to do the same.
On the occasion, while addressing the members of Prayavaran, Mitra, the acting vice-chancellor, rolled out his plans for environment protection and said that it is our moral duty to work unitedly to protect the environment.
Prayavaran Mitra coordinator Sudha Rajswi Mishra appealed to academics to join the campaign for environmental protection.
