Dhanbad, March 29: Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University (BBMKU) Dhanbad has nominated Dr Sarita Srivastava as university representative in the Governing Body of Baghmara College Baghmara.
BBMKU acting registrar Dr Kaushal Kumar has issued notice on the directive of acting vice-chancellor Pawan Kumar Poddar under the Jharkhand State University Act 2002.
Principal of Degree College, Gomia
Dr Sarita Srivastava, principal of Degree College, Gomia ( Bokaro district), will replace Dr Jitendra Aryan, a university teacher in the political science department in GB. Prof Srivastava is a senior teacher and considered an able administrator in the university circle.
The teachers of Baghmara College Baghmara have hailed Dr Srivastava’s nomination as a Governing Body member and expressed hope that all pending issues of teachers, non-teaching staff, and students will be resolved sooner rather than later.

Will try her best, says Dr Sarita
When contacted on Friday afternoon, Dr Srivastava said that the university has given her additional responsibility as a member of Baghmara College Baghmara Governing Body, and she will try her best to solve all the college’s problems.
“The College is reeling under an acute shortage of faculty members. Teachers can teach students properly only when they are happy. So, my priority as a university representative in the governing body is to regularize salary payments and remove the hurdles standing in them,” said Dr Srivastava.
Baghmara College Baghmara Governing Body needs to be completed. Baghmara MLA Dhulu Mahto is its president, but the secretary post is still vacant. A member from the academic area in the Governing Body is still to be nominated.
