Jharkhand News: BIT Sindri inks MoU with Strayos LLP for advanced research in mining

Dhanbad, Aug 28: The Mining Engineering Department of BIT Sindri has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Strayos LLP, aiming to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) for joint research and development in the mining sector.

Strayos LLP, recognised as a visual AI platform specialising in mine-to-mill optimisation, will collaborate with BIT Sindri to enhance cooperation in research and development. Experts from both institutions noted that this MoU would significantly benefit both parties in advancing innovation within the mining industry.

Lecture on ‘Mine to Mill Optimization, AI-Based Survey Models’

To mark the signing of the MoU, a practical lecture was organized at BIT Sindri’s Administrative Building. Dr Anurag Agrawal, a digital solutions engineer from Strayos, delivered an insightful lecture on “Mine to Mill Optimization, AI-Based Survey Models, and Integrated Blast Optimization Workflow.” His presentation provided valuable insights into the practical application of AI in mining.

BIT Sindri Director Dr Pankaj Rai addressed the gathering and expressed his deep appreciation for Dr Anurag Agrawal’s expertise in mining research and development. He also thanked Dr Agrawal for his ongoing support to BIT Sindri, Jharkhand.

Innovation in mining field

“This cooperation between the two institutions will foster innovation in the mining field. The practical application of AI will equip students with the skills needed to tackle global challenges and elevate BIT Sindri into the elite club of advanced institutions in the country’s research and development arena,” said the Head of the Mining Engineering Department at BIT Sindri.

Senior faculty members, including Prof. Neeraj Yadav, Prof. Rizwan Hasim, Prof. Suman Hesa, Prof. Manas Kumar Mallick, and Prof. Tanmay Dasgupta, also spoke at the event, lauding the MoU and its potential to enhance research and innovation at BIT Sindri.
