Dhanbad, May 14: In a remarkable achievement, Team 007 from BIT Sindri Dhanbad clinched the top spot at the 36-hour National Hackathon-25, outshining their counterparts from technical institutes across the country.

Team Osiris from BIT Mesra Ranchi secured the second position, while Team Code Catalyst from United College of Engineering and Research, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, bagged the third spot.

The competition, which brought together teams from various states including Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh, was organized by the Hackathon and Coding Club (HNCC) of BIT Sindri, with support from the CSE and IT departments.

Winning Team Members

The winning team from BIT Sindri comprised final-year students Soumik Ghoshal, Anuj Kumar Barnwal, Abhay Anand, Ruchi Priya, Rashika Kumari, and Piyusha Kumari. The team impressed the judges with their technological brilliance, innovation, and creativity.

The event saw participation from several dignitaries, including Dr. D.K. Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Jharkhand University of Technology (JUT), and BIT Sindri Alumni Association Secretary Sweta Kumar, who joined the event virtually from Ranchi.

Prof. Ghanshyam, Chairperson of the Career Development Centre at BIT Sindri, commended the participants for their innovative approach and teamwork. Prof. Prakash Kumar, Dean of Alumni Affairs, also praised the participants and encouraged them to continue pursuing their passion for technology.

Organizers and Judges

The organizing team included Prof. SC Dutta, Head of CSE, and Prof. Md. Akram Khan, Professor-in-Charge of HNCC.

The Hackathon was organized with technical guidance from BIT Sindri’s Director, Prof. Pankaj Rai, and key faculty members, including Prof. Khustar Ansari, Vikas Kumar Singh, Vijay Besra, Sachin Kumar, Jitendra Kumar, and Mukesh Chandra.

The judges panel consisted of Santosh Ghosh, DIO of Jamtara; Saleha Khan, Senior Software Analyst at Accenture; Masoom Malik, Director of Technics India; and Dr. Dinesh Prabhakar, Assistant Professor at NIAMT Ranchi.

The event was supported by several prestigious sponsors and partner organizations, including Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), Maya Data Privacy, Amul India, Geek Room, Devfolio, ETH India, BITSA International, DevTown, and Technics India, who played a crucial role in making the event a success.
