Jamshedpur, April 19: Bullet riddled body of a 27-year-old youth was found lying in a field under Ulidih thana area in Mango on Saturday morning.

The body was identified as that of carpenter Nanku Lal, a resident of Kharia bustee in Ulidih located at a little distance away from the spot where the body was found.

According to the murder victim’s elder brother, Rakesh Lal, Nanku had come out of the house around 6.00 pm yesterday and did not return home.

He said as there was a marriage ceremony in the locality, the family members thought he might be busy there and did not bother about him much, but in the morning he came to know about a youth’s body lying in a field nearby and on visiting the spot he found it to be that of Nanku.

Police had reached the spot on getting the information about the body lying in the field and seized it for postmortem.
Possible Revenge-Driven Murder, Police Probe On
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Bacchandeo Kujur said the youth might have been murdered in sequel to enmity. He said the body bears marks of bullet injuries, suggesting he might have been shot.
“The Ulidih police have started an investigation into the case after shifting the body to MGM Medical College (MGMMCH) mortuary for postmortem. The assailants will be detected soon,” said Kujur while talking to The Jharkhand Story.
Nanku used to work as a carpenter and the youngest among three brothers.
According to Rakesh Lal, Nanku had enmity with three youths, namely, Lalla, Lapat and Siri, all residents of Kharia bustee.
He said his brother had a clash with the three youths about a year ago and the matter was amicably settled at the Ulidih thana. But six months ago, the three had again created trouble and had pelted stones at their house.

Family Claims Police Inaction Contributed to Tragedy
“But when the Ulidih thana was approached with the complaint of stone-pelting by the accused, the police did not take any action against them then. The inaction by the police must have emboldened the spirit of the accused who might have finally killed my brother,” Rakesh alleged while talking to the newsmen.
The gunshot murder has triggered sensation in the densely populated Ulidih thana area, prompting the police to do the routine formality.
