Daltonganj, May 24: A 16-wheel coal-loaded truck broke the drop gate of the Kundri forest range and tried to escape only to be finally halted by the team of the Kundri forest check naka before the driver escaped from being caught.
There have been instances in India where sand mafia or stone chips mafia has crushed forest officers to death who dared to come in their way.
Here this coal-loaded truck just broke the bamboo drop gate but the intention of the truck driver was most dangerous and threatening to the lives of the forest team of the Kundri forest check naka.

The coal-loaded truck gate crashed around 3.30 am on the night of May 23.
The driver of the coal-loaded truck thought he could break the drop gate of the forest range and escape. But his plan was aborted by the alert team of the Kundri forest range even at the wee hours of night 3.30 am.

Incharge ranger of Kundri forest Umesh Kumar Dubey said, “Just a couple of days ago we had set up a check naka. It has been broken. We will erect it again. It has sent nervous shocks to mafiosi to sand, timber and coal.”
“Our team of Kundri check naka will stop crossing of illicit material be it timber or sand or coal. Show the papers first. If it is illegal consignment, forest law will take its course,” reminded Dubey.
He said last night around 3.30 am a coal-loaded truck tried to overawe and frighten our check naka team by breaking down its bamboo barrier to run away with the illicit coal little knowing that the barrier is of law and not of the bamboo only.
The truck bearing number JH 13F 2157 has been seized with the loaded coal, said Dubey.
Kundri range is famous for its largest lac orchard but over the decades this range of forest has gained notoriety for the illicit felling of trees and timber sale.
Incharge DFO Medininagar Kumar Ashish said, “We are determined to contain and crush fishy things going on in this range for a long. I appeal to all law-abiding citizens to help save forests and its glory.”
