Daltonganj, April 14: Town police along with its outpost police pre-empted a crime nabbing a criminal whose search led to the recovery of a loaded ‘desi katta’ (country-made pistol) with one round of fire.

One other criminal managed to flee abandoning his bag which when the police searched found a revolver but without any cartridge for any of the six chambers.

SDPO Sadar Mani Bhushan Prasad held a press briefing today along with the officers in charge Deobrat Poddar and Rakesh Kumar of the town outpost police.

Revolver Found in Abandoned Bag

Giving details SDPO Sadar Mani Bhushan Prasad said there was a tip-off about two suspicious youths, in their early 20s, standing near the Daltonganj railway station last night.

Police swung into action immediately and one criminal Chandan Verma was caught with a loaded desi katta. One live round of fire was also recovered.
