Dhanbad, Feb 26: Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner (DC) Madhvi Mishra recently honored the district’s medal winners from the 38th National Games held in Uttarakhand. The DC felicitated them with Shawls and certificates.

The athletes, who participated in the Modern Pentathlon event, were celebrated for their remarkable achievements. Anu Kumari and Tanu Kumari earned silver medals, while Prem Kumar Mahto secured a bronze.

During the felicitation, DC Madhvi Mishra expressed her pride in the players’ exceptional performances and assured them of the district administration’s support in helping them achieve further success in Modern Pentathlon.

She emphasized that it was the district administration’s responsibility and priority to provide resources and meet the needs of promising athletes, enabling them to excel at both national and international levels. “It is essential that we support our athletes to ensure they bring pride to the state,” said DC Mishra.

District Sports Officer Umesh Lohra, DSC Rinku Gupta, and coaches Jairam Bhagat, Namita Tudu, Tarun Mukhia, and Shiva Kumar Mahto were also present at the ceremony.
ADM (Law and Order) Piyush Sinha lauded the athletes for their achievements and encouraged them to maintain their high performance.
Dhanbad District Olympic Association Secretary Ranjit Kesri also congratulated the medal winners for their excellent results.
