Dhanbad, Sept 21: The Dhanbad police have detained two individuals allegedly involved in malpractice during the Jharkhand Government Graduate Level Combined Competitive Examination (JGGLCC).
The suspects were apprehended from a hotel in Jharia under the jurisdiction of the Jharia police station.
Police operation and arrests
Dhanbad Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) HP Janardhan informed the media that the arrests were made following a tip-off from the Lohardaga Superintendent of Police on Friday night. In response, the Dhanbad police launched a search operation across various hotels in the district.
During the operation, two youth were arrested from a hotel in Jharia. One of the detainees is from Jahanabad district in Bihar, while the other is a resident of Gomia in Bokaro, Jharkhand.

Recovered items and investigation
Dhanbad SSP stated that the Lohardaga Superintendent of Police has been notified of the arrests for further legal action.
Dhanbad SSP stated, “The police recovered three mobile phones, three ATM cards, a blank cheque, and a list containing the names, roll numbers, and examination centers of 21 examinees. The interrogation of the arrested individuals is ongoing to uncover the details of the syndicate involved in this malpractice racket.”
According to SSP Janardhan, after receiving intelligence that the suspects were planning to influence the JGGLCC examination in Dhanbad, a team led by SDPO Sindri, Bhupendra Singh Rawat, was formed. The swift action resulted in the arrests of both suspects. Further investigation into the case is underway.
