Dhanbad, July 10: Delhi Public School (DPS) Bokaro will host the district swimming championship cum selection trial for the state championship on July 14.
Bokaro District Swimming Association (BDSA) president Dr AS Gangwar (principal of DPS Bokaro) said that the selection championship cum selection trial will be held for junior and sub-junior age groups between 8 to 17 years.
The participants will have to come with age and other address proof at the venue for entry into the competition.

BDSA president said that the selection trail is open to all including school students, swimming clubs and swimmers from rural areas. He added that in the competition cadets will be selected in seven events including freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly stroke, individual medley, 4X50 meters freestyle and medley relay.
The selected cadets will be selected to represent Bokaro district in the 14th Jharkhand State sub-junior and junior swimming championship 2024 scheduled to be held at Veer Budhu Bhagat Aquatic Stadium Mega Sports Complex, Hotwar, Ranchi from July 26 to 28.
“Besides the selection of district teams for the state meet, the aim of this championship is to encourage swimmers and promote budding talents,” said Dr Gangwar.
