Jamshedpur, Dec 16: A horrific road accident took place early Tuesday morning in the Bistupur police station area of Jamshedpur, near the Marine Drive roundabout, claiming the life of a trailer driver.

According to information, the accident occurred in the wee hours, around 3 am, when a trailer carrying iron pipes from Rungta Mines suddenly went out of control and rammed into the road divider.
The impact was so severe that the driver’s cabin was completely crushed, trapping the driver inside.

The deceased has been identified as Suman Kumar.

After the accident, panic gripped the area. On receiving information, the Bistupur police immediately reached the spot.
With the help of local residents, police made strenuous efforts to retrieve the driver’s body, which was badly stuck inside the mangled cabin.
After the body was recovered, it was sent for post-mortem examination.
Preliminary investigation suggests that overspeeding or drowsiness may have led to the accident, though the exact cause is yet to be ascertained.

Police have initiated a detailed investigation into the incident.
The accident once again highlights the dangers faced by heavy vehicle drivers during late-night and early-morning hours, especially on highways and major city roads.
