Dhanbad, July 19: Week-long workshop on ‘Electric Vehicles and its Key Components’ began here at BIT Sindri on Friday.

The BIT Sindri Electrical Engineering Department has organized this week-long workshop (July 19 to 24) as part of the Platinum Jubilee Celebration of the institution.

The premier technical institute which will complete 75 years in November, will host a total of 75 national as well as international programmes which already started from November 2023.

Latest advancements in EV technology

Convenors of the workshop, Dr Rahul Kumar and Dr Murli Manohar, of the electrical engineering department said the main objective of the event is to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of the latest advancements in electric vehicle (EV) technology.

“The workshop covers an overview of EV key components, design considerations, and prospects,” they said.

Dr Md. Abul Kalam, head of the electrical engineering department, welcomed the speakers and provided a comprehensive explanation of the key issues and opportunities associated with electric vehicles.

The coordinators said that on the first day of the workshop experts and industry leaders discussed and shared their insights, offering valuable knowledge and perspectives.

The experts who shared their experience on Electrical Vehicles and their key components were Abhijit Kulkarni, Altair Product Manager, Design Tech Systems, and Sandip Yadav, regional technical manager, Altair Engineering, Suraj S D, founder & CEO, Decibels Labs, Gaurav Bhatt, CFD Engineer, Design Tech Systems. Sandeep Ramagiri, technical manager, Altair Engineering, Chandra Kumar technical manager Power Electronics, Altair Engineering, Angel Shiny, application engineer HF Electromagnetics, DesignTech Systems, Prof. Pankaj Rai, director BIT Sindri, dean academic Prof. D. K. Tanti, IIC president Prof. Prakash Kumar, and general warden Prof. R. K. Verma.

Assistant professors Dr Dipesh Kumar and Dr Rajesh Narayan Deo coordinated the workshop.

Other senior faculty y members present were Dr Vineet Shekher, Prof. Praveen Kumar, Prof. Rakesh Rohan, Prof. Bhavesh Kumar, Prof. Matta Mani Shankar, Dr Biswaranjan Mishra, Dr Prashant Kumar Singh, and Dr Abhishek Sharma.

The organizers said the workshop promises to be a significant event for students, researchers, faculty members, and industry professionals interested in the burgeoning field of electric vehicles. The workshop is also providing a platform for learning, discussion, and future collaborations.
