Dhanbad, Dec 11: The much-awaited Fit India Week, featuring a variety of sports and educational competitions, kicked off at Sindri College, Sindri, with great enthusiasm.
While inaugurating the five-day festival, Principal Dr. K.K. Pathak emphasised the institution’s commitment to the holistic development of students. He stated that the college aims to provide an ideal platform for boys and girls to showcase their talents. Dr. Pathak also encouraged students to give equal importance to sports and academics, urging them to explore their natural skills. He assured that the college would continue to enhance facilities based on available resources.

The Fit India Week is being jointly organised by National Service Scheme (NSS) Units 1 and 2.
Event Schedule and Highlights
- Day 1: The week began with an essay competition for both boys and girls, according to NSS Unit-1 in-charge Dr. Nitu Gaurav Kumar and NSS Unit-2 in-charge Dr. Sanat Kumar.
- Day 2: A quiz competition is being held today, December 11.
- Day 3 (December 12): Two events—1 km race and Kabaddi—will be organised. Four teams of students are participating in the Kabaddi competition.
- Day 4 (December 13): Yoga and meditation sessions are scheduled.
- Day 5 (December 14): The final day will feature a Fitness Assessment Through Mobile activity.
The event will conclude with the announcement of winners and a prize distribution ceremony on December 14.
Organisers and Attendees
Dr. Nitu Gaurav Kumar and Dr. Sanat Kumar provided details of the program. Several faculty members, including Dr. Manoj Kumar Tiwari, Dr. Manmohan Singh, Dr. Mamta Kumari, Dr. Arti, Dr. Nishant Dubey, Dr. Puja Kumari, and Dr. Anuradha Das, were present during the inauguration.
