Jamshedpur, May 9: The perseverance and dedication of underprivileged students from the Ghatsila subdivision, enrolled in the Faculty of Science, have borne fruit as all five candidates of the third batch 2022 of Veer Shaheed Ganesh Hansda Fellowship successfully passed their 12th examinations.
This remarkable achievement was celebrated and honoured during a ceremony held at the martyr memorial in Kosafalia village, where Sugda Hansda, the father of the late martyr Ganesh Hansda, expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the students’ accomplishments.
About Ganesh Hansda Fellowship
The Veer Shaheed Ganesh Hansda Fellowship, initiated by the Nishchay Foundation, serves as a beacon of hope for rural children and youth, offering continuous support and guidance in their academic pursuits.
The fellowship, launched in 2020 to commemorate the valour of Ganesh Hansda, who sacrificed his life at the age of 20 while defending the nation in the Galwan Valley clash with China, aims to inspire and empower children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Felicitation ceremony by Nischay Foundation
In the recently announced Jharkhand Intermediate 2024 results, all five students from the third batch of the fellowship excelled in the science stream, with four achieving first division and one securing second division.
Kalyani Thayal of Badiya village and Amrit Mahato of Sonahatu village emerged as joint toppers, scoring 405 marks each.
During the felicitation ceremony, the students were honoured by Sugda Hansda, who presented them with symbolic gifts including a corset, a map of India, and a competitive magazine.
Reflecting on the success of the students, Sugda Hansda expressed his pride and satisfaction, emphasizing his joy in witnessing the progress of children studying in memory of his son, Ganesh.
Tarun Kumar, the founder of Nishchay, commended the students for their outstanding performance and encouraged them to continue their academic journey with dedication and focus.
He emphasized the importance of pursuing higher education and advised the students to develop essential skills such as personality development and time management.
Fellowship team visits students’ homes for guidance
Following the ceremony, the fellowship team visited the homes of the students to provide information and guidance on various academic and career opportunities in science-related fields.
Parents expressed gratitude for the support and financial assistance provided through the fellowship, which enabled their children to pursue their studies smoothly.
The event was attended by prominent figures including martyr’s elder brother Dinesh Hansda, Roopnarayan Bera, Sudam Hembram, Baidyanath Hansda, Gaurav Krantiguru, and Bhavanand, among others.
The program was skillfully conducted by Tarun Kumar, highlighting the collaborative efforts of the community in nurturing the educational aspirations of its youth.
