Daltonganj, Nov 22: 100 stolen android cell phones worth 16 lakhs of rupees were recovered in six days from the date of lodging of the complaint by the victim who is a cell phone dealer Sumit Kumar with the Majhiaon police station in Garhwa district.

SP Garhwa Deepak Kr Pandey said, “A massive theft was committed in a cell phone shop of Sumit Kumar, Majhiaon Market on the night of November 13.”

The thieves had entered this shop by breaking open the ventilator and had decamped with two bags of cell phones numbering 105 in all.

The theft was committed on the night of November 13, the day of polling.

SP Garhwa Deepak Kr Pandey said “We took this theft case as a challenge. It was the victim Sumit Kumar who took the time to lodge the case. He did it on November 16. Our men got on the job from day one of the FIR.”

Arrests and recoveries from multiple locations

With technical inputs, the Majhiaon police trapped Krishna Chowdhury. He was using one of the stolen cell phones.

From here this case of theft began to unfold faster. Krishna disclosed the name of Mukesh Kumar of Meral police station. And when Mukesh was nabbed he disclosed the name of Basant of Garhwa police station.

Basant proved smarter than Krishna and Mukesh. He went into hiding riding a bike.

The Majhiaon police was getting richer in terms of cell phones with every arrest. The arrest of Mukesh helped police to lay hands on one bag of the stolen cell phones.

The remaining other bag of cell phones was collected from the house of Basant but Basant remained uncaught.

Thus from Majhiaon where the theft was committed, the local police went to another police station Meral and finally to Garhwa police station with two arrests and the recovery of 100 cell phones out of the 105 stolen cell phones.

Coordination and professionalism by Majhiaon Police

The coordination, precision and flawless nabbing prove the professionalism of the Majhiaon police of the Garhwa district under the stewardship of its captain Deepak Kumar Pandey. Majhiaon police did a remake of any popular Hindi crime buster film.

The two caught Krishna and Mukesh were remanded to judicial custody in Garhwa today under sections 331 (4) / 305 of the Bhartiya Nayaya Sanhita.

A team of 10 cops led by the SDPO Garhwa Niraj Kumar cracked the case where a kind of family was involved.
