Dhanbad, Nov 22: A total of 702 personnel have been deployed for the counting of votes in six assembly constituencies—Dhanbad Sadar, Jharia, Baghmara, Sindri, Tundi, and Nirsa—in Dhanbad district tomorrow.

Election commission officials have confirmed that elaborate arrangements have been made at the Krishi Bazar Samiti premises in Barbadda, where the vote counting will take place. The personnel will count both EVM and postal ballots.

462 personnel for counting EVM votes

Out of the total 702 personnel, 462 will be responsible for counting the EVM votes, while 240 staff members have been assigned to count postal ballots. A total of 177 tables have been set up for the counting process, with 129 tables designated for EVM votes and 48 tables for postal ballots—eight tables for each of the six assembly constituencies.

Rounds of counting

The counting process will consist of various rounds depending on the constituency. The highest number of rounds—23—will be held for Dhanbad Sadar constituency, followed by 22 rounds for Nirsa and Sindri. Tundi and Baghmara will each have 21 rounds, and 20 rounds will be allocated for Jharia constituency.

Monitoring and transparency measures

To ensure transparency and fairness in the counting process, district election officials have deployed several monitoring staff. A total of 28 micro observers, 28 counting observers, and 28 counting assistants will be present at the counting center.

For specific constituencies, additional personnel have been assigned: 26 micro observers, 26 counting supervisors, and 26 counting assistants for Sindri and Nirsa; 25 each for Tundi and Baghmara; and 24 for Jharia.
