Jharkhand News: Hardcore Naxal’s wife nabbed in a hospital in Dhanbad

Dhanbad July 16: Dhanbad police have nabbed Jaya Manjhi, wife of a hardcore Naxal Prayag Majhi, who has a reward of  Rs 1 crore on his head, from a private hospital in the district.

Jaya Manjhi is reportedly a cancer patient and was under treatment in Asarfi Hospital in the name of Kavita for some days.

Two others including a Bihar doctor arrested

On the revelation of Jaya Manjhi, district police have also picked up two people including a doctor from the Jamui district of Bihar and a suspected woman from Deoghar who reportedly helped Jaya Manjhi in getting treatment.

District police did not confirm when she was arrested. However, sources in the police department said that after getting information from IB, police took Jaya Manjhi in custody in the hospital while interrogation of other arrested persons was being done at a police stationing district.

Prayag Manjhi most wanted Naxal in Four states

Prayag Manjhi, the resident of Dhanbad’s Tundi block, is the most wanted Naxal in four states Jharkhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Odisha. Several cases are pending against him in different police stations in four states.

Sources said the Jharkhand government had also put Rs 25 lakh on the Jaya  Manjhi but later withdrew the award on her in the wake of her inactivity in Naxal activities.
