Jamshedpur, August 14: A heart-wrenching incident in Parsudih on Thursday has left the local community in shock.
Shilpi Mukherjee, 34, a nurse at Potka CHC, was brutally murdered by her husband, Saheb Mukherjee.
Following the crime, Saheb went to the Nandup railway track in Sundernagar police station area and ended his life by jumping in front of a train.

According to police sources, Saheb suspected his wife of having an extramarital affair.

Acting on this suspicion, he allegedly strangled her into unconsciousness at their home before attacking her with a sharp weapon, resulting in her death.
After the murder, he posted a WhatsApp status and left a suicide note admitting to the killing and his intent to take his own life.
Parsudih police station in-charge Avinash Kumar stated that officers rushed to the spot upon receiving information and recovered Shilpi’s body.
Meanwhile, Sundernagar police recovered Saheb’s body from the railway track. Both bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.
The victim’s brother, Amit Kumar, revealed that Shilpi had married Saheb four years ago.

Family members said the couple had been facing marital discord in recent months, but no one had anticipated such a tragic outcome.
Police are now investigating all angles of the case, seizing mobile phones, the suicide note, and other evidence.
The shocking double tragedy has cast a pall of grief and anger over the locality.
