Jamshedpur, May 31: The Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM), Jamshedpur Branch, successfully conducted a “CPO Meet” at the Center of Excellence. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Chief Procurement Officer of Tata Steel, Ranjan Sinha, as the Chief Guest.

Chairman emphasizes need to increase membership for Industry 4.0

Sidhartha Dash, Chairman of IIMM Jamshedpur Branch, delivered the welcome presentation, highlighting several new initiatives the branch is embarking on this year.

These initiatives aim to enhance the skill sets of industrial staff and contractors, positioning IIMM Jamshedpur as a pivotal player in professional development within the industry located in and around Jamshedpur.

Dash further emphasized the goal of increasing membership intake to further the reach and impact of IIMM in the industries to meet the challenges of Industry 4.0 and the 5 Trillion Dollar economy of India.

Digital interventions to uplift branch’s operations

Vice President (East) of IIMM, Rana Das, discussed the upcoming digital interventions planned to modernize and uplift the branch’s operations. These digital transformations are expected to streamline processes and foster greater engagement among members and stakeholders. Das presented IIMM’s role in the ever-growing global Supply Chain Management.

Jharkhand, Odisha need to collaborate for branch’s development

CPO of Tata Steel, Ranjan Sinha, pointed out a paradigm shift from materials management to supply chain management, including the management of risk and sustainability in the supply chain.

He highlighted the potential growth of Odisha in the upcoming years and how materials management professionals of Jharkhand and Odisha can work together for the overall development of the branch.

A K Srivastava added that IIMM can contribute to Tata Steel professionals and supplier partners in the aforementioned areas.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Sanjeev Raman, Vice Chairman of IIMM Jamshedpur Branch, expressing gratitude to all attendees and contributors for making the event a resounding success.
