Daltonganj, July 14: A 12-foot-long and about 18 kg in weight Indian rock python was rescued early Monday morning at village Parewatarn under the Bareysarn range of the Palamu Tiger Reserve (PTR)
The python was hiding in the pile of paddy straw of a farmer Arjun Singh, who phoned the forester in charge Paramjit Tiwary about this python in the straw and wanted its rescue.

A rescue team led by Tiwary, comprising Shera Gupta, Aman Kumar, Mukh Raj and Laxman Yadav, reached the site and rescued the python, which was later released into the jungle.
No one in the crowd of people harmed or hurt the python, which is a very significant change in the attitude of people towards this snake always blamed for eating small goats etc.
Python abounds in the jungles of the Palamu Tiger Reserve.
