Police sources further revealed that two other suspects — Azad Langda and Saifi from Mango’s Azad Basti — may also be involved in the case.

Shukla’s possible connection to a Dhanbad-based gang has also come to light.

Earlier, police had raided his Golmuri residence but failed to capture him as he had fled the area. Acting on a tip-off, he was eventually nabbed from Bundu.

Investigators are also probing Shukla’s alleged involvement in money lending and extortion activities. Police suspect that financial disputes, political rivalry, or both could be behind the firing.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have hinted that a major breakthrough may follow soon.
