Jamshedpur, July 23: 33-year-old Mohammed Washim Akhtar was found lying dead Riyad three days after he left his house at Golmuri Muslim Bustee on June 26.

The deceased who was a father of two children suspected to have been murdered by four of his co-workers at Riyad in Saudi Arabia.

Significantly, the news about Washim’s death reached his anxious family members here in Golmuri on Saturday only.

Washim worked as an AC mechanic

Washim who would work as an AC mechanic had left his home on June 26 to reach his workplace in Riyad. He had first gone to Calcutta from where he took a flight to Delhi from where he boarded a plane for Riyad.

According to family members, one of his coworkers Kafil Abdul Aziz had picked Washim up from the Riyad and finally put him up in the room.

Washim had enmity with Mohammed Abid

On June 29, Washim joined his company where he had enmity with a man identified as Mohammed Abid. The same day three more co-workers, each from Egypt, Yemen and Madhya Pradesh in India had taken him for lunch. Ever since no one had seen Washim; he had become incommunicable.

After the man had turned incommunicado, the family members in Golmuri made his relatives find out what had meted out to him. The relatives too could not get any definite information.

Consequently, Washim’s father Munir Akhtar approached the City SP and also contacted the Indian embassy for his son’s whereabouts. Finally, the family members were today informed that Washim is already dead and he died on June 29.

Munir Akhtar claimed that it was a gang of coworkers from Egypt, Yemen and India who might have killed his son after conniving with Mohammed Abid.

Munir Akhtar has also claimed that Kafil Abdul Aziz who had come to receive Washim from the Riyad airport might be involved in the murder of his son.

A pall of gloom descended on the Golmuri Muslim Bustee as the news of his untimely death spread in the locality.
