Jamshedpur, June 7: In a major breakthrough, the Jamshedpur police have arrested a total of nine individuals involved in a series of criminal activities, including house burglaries, snatching, armed loots, and firing incidents across various parts of the city over the past two months.

City SP Kumar Shivashish, addressing a press conference, revealed that acting on a confidential tip-off, police conducted a late-night raid near Neel Dih Dalma Road. During the operation, seven suspects were caught while they were allegedly plotting another criminal act. Several firearms and other weapons were recovered from the site.

During interrogation, the arrested individuals confessed to carrying out a robbery on April 28 at the residence of a retired schoolteacher in the Sidhgora area.

They also admitted involvement in multiple snatching incidents in Telco and Sidhgora. According to officials, the gang used a car to execute their crimes, which made it difficult for the police to track them down.

SP Shivashish also mentioned that a few months ago, some gang members had been apprehended with weapons from the same house where the recent robbery occurred, indicating a pattern of repeat offenses.

The arrested individuals are part of a larger inter-district gang operating not just in Jamshedpur, but also in Dhanbad and other districts. The police are now coordinating with law enforcement from other regions to gather further information about their criminal activities.

Two Arrested in Firing Case

In a separate development, police have also arrested two suspects in connection with a recent firing incident in Sakchi.

The accused were intercepted while traveling in a car via the Subernarekha Link Road, where authorities recovered a country-made pistol and two live cartridges.

Both suspects are affiliated with the Danish gang and have confessed to their involvement in the firing.

All nine arrested individuals are currently in judicial custody following initial interrogation.

The police have assured that investigations are ongoing and more arrests could follow as they continue to dismantle the criminal network.
