Jamshedpur, June 7: In a span of just 48 hours, three cases of snatching, targeting women, have rocked the Parsudih police station area, raising serious questions about women’s safety and police patrolling in the locality.

Among the victims is a local BJP leader who sustained an eye injury during the incident.

Police have registered FIRs in all cases and are analysing CCTV footage to identify and apprehend the culprits. Initial investigations hint at the possibility of involvement by the same gang in all three crimes.
Incident 1: Woman Returning from Yoga Class Targeted

Incident 3: BJP Leader Robbed, Sustains Eye Injury
On Friday, around 4 pm, local BJP leader Meetu Mukherjee of Haludbani was walking home from Parsudih market when three assailants on a black motorcycle snatched her bag. During the scuffle, she fell and suffered a serious injury to her eye.
She was immediately admitted to Sadar Hospital for treatment. Her bag reportedly contained Rs 10,000 in cash, ATM cards, and important documents.
Mukherjee said that she was able to identify the assailants in the CCTV footage and suspects that all the crimes are linked to the same gang targeting women in the area.
In response to the spate of crimes, Parsudih police have registered FIRs against unknown miscreants in all three cases and are conducting raids based on CCTV footage.
According to a police officer, “We are examining CCTV footage from the area and conducting raids at suspected locations. The culprits will be arrested soon.”

Public Outrage Over Falling Law and Order
The series of snatching incidents has triggered fear and anger among residents of Parsudih. Locals claim women no longer feel safe on the streets, and they have accused the police of failing to maintain effective patrolling.
BJP leader Meetu Mukherjee criticized the administration, saying, “An incident like this in a busy area such as Parsudih market in broad daylight shows a complete failure of the police. Strong steps must be taken to ensure the safety of women.”
The back-to-back incidents have cast a shadow over police effectiveness in the area, leaving victims traumatized and public trust in law enforcement shaken.
All eyes are now on how swiftly and effectively the police bring the culprits to justice and restore a sense of safety in the community.
